After a very LOUD bus ride, we arrived to some pouring rain, but it let up very quickly. The kids all helped getting the luggage off the bus and then we headed into the dining hall for a lunch of cheeseburger, fries, and watermelon. Next we dropped off luggage to the cabins and then straight out to field group where they did some get to know you activities and games. At 4:00 the students met in the rec hall to go over some rules and schedules. They were very excited to them have some time back in the cabins to set up their beds and shelves and hang out with each other. For dinner we had barbecue chicken, rice, and mixed veggies. Some of the students took their turns as waitrons for dinner by setting up the tables then serving the food. Ice-cream sandwiches for dessert!! After dinner the kids chose their classes for the next few days and headed out for a night hike experience. Quiet sing will follow about 8:30 then back to the cabins for the night. They have been great and are having a blast!
